What is the Essential Baby and Toddler Show?
With hundreds of local and international brands, advice from the experts and fantastic entertainment in a stylish, boutique setting, the Essential Baby & Toddler Show is the essential event for your pregnancy, baby and toddler.
New and expectant parents can enjoy a fantastic shopping experience, receive personalised consultations with a range of experts in our Advice Hub, as well as attend seminars on a variety of parenting topics including feeding, sleeping, settling and more.
Little ones can look forward to live entertainment and meet & greets with some of their favourite characters, get their faces painted or immerse themselves in various hands-on activities.
We are also excited to feature a limited number of First Aid Courses by Child Revive across all Shows, in addition to their free first aid demonstrations all weekend.

ON-SITE JOB ROLES
Bump In & Bump Out
During the build and the breakdown of the event all hands are on deck! There are always plenty of small tasks the team and volunteers will do from selling hi-visibility vests and helping to enforce safety requirements, decorating all of our feature areas, distributing information to exhibitors and preparing for Show Open days.

Balloons, Wristbands, Event Guides & Ticket Enquiries
The entrance of The Essential Baby & Toddler Show is the first impression for our visitors and we like to make it feel like they will be entering into a fun environment. Entertainers and music will be playing to give a fun atmosphere.
Volunteers will need to assist in handing out balloons to the kids, handing Event Guides to the adults which help them navigate the show once they are inside, helping visitors with any ticket enquiries and making sure they are in the correct lines and also encouraging parents to fix and ID wristband to their kids to assist us to reuniting any lost kids. Parents are required to write their name and contact number on the wristbands so they can be contacted immediately.
Be prepared to answer any questions that may be thrown your way. Have a little bit of background knowledge about the show and know your way around. Take a look at the floor plan as it will make it easier for you to direct others on where they need to go. This will be provided to you on arrival for your shift.
Pram Trial Track
The Pram Trial Track is an obstacle course set out for pregnant couples to test prams on different surfaces, ramps and stairs before thy choose which one to purchase.
Volunteer’s will help visitors to select a pram and navigate the course and giving information on what each obstacle represents e.g. testing the brakes, steering, can it fit through a doorway, etc.
Main Stage and Meet & Greet Station
The Main stage has both seminars and live entertainment scheduled each day and our live Character’s will have their photos with the visitors at the Meet & Greet Station.
Volunteers will assist with: resetting between sessions, crowd management during live entertainment and Meet & Greets, and Talent Management.
Changing & Feeding Rooms
Visitors are provided with fully stocked Changing and Feeding rooms. Volunteers will manage these areas and make sure the cleaners know of any spills or full bins and restock all products in these rooms.
Helping visitors with general information about the show.
Show bag Collection point
Handing out show bags to first 1600 persons to arrive at the show.
Shop and Drop
Manage cloakroom style shop and drop section using cloakroom tickets taking mobile phone numbers for no pickups.
Volunteers are rotated between these roles throughout their shift to ensure variety and learning.
